Not your Enemy James Bauhaus 2011

In a recent legislative session (9-5-11) we saw the Oklahoma Prosecutor's Association buying a law that lets them carry deadly weapons concealed about their person. The bill also lets their investigative aides carry concealed weapons, and lets everyone involved get and keep a free, personal deadly weapon of their choice to secret about their person at taxpayer expense. Also, a legislator became envious of this extra privilege that they were about to bestow and sought to attach a parasitic amendment to the bill so that legislators too could get free guns and automatic concealed-carry privileges at citizens' expense.

Their excuse for voting themselves such largesse at a time when every other word out of their busy mouths pertains to sacrifice, budget cuts, overwhelming debt, furloughs and union-busting is that they are terrified of criminals attacking them.

If we examine the logic behind this precept, we may find that it is a pretty poor excuse. Last time I checked, criminals were an exceptionally ignorant and lazy bunch, more motivated to steal than to work. Once they are finished stealing, my considerable research indicates that they generally rush right out to stupefy themselves with alcohol and other drugs until they decide that it is time to resume stealing. Since there is no profit in attacking elites, where is the incentive to do so? There are many reasons to avoid such attacks: no one knows where they live; driving your junker into these far, rich, often gated places will get you spotted, stopped, searched and jailed by their extensive and pervasive neighborhood watch and cop apparatchiks; it costs money to try and find such people; they are already highly protected; most or all of them already have plenty of guns and secret gun privileges; they routinely kill people and escape punishment for it; most of them are ex-military, ex-cop or otherwise highly skilled in the art of slaughter; many of them, if not most of them, have previously tasted blood along with excessive privilege and power, and liked it; some may even ache for the opportunity to taste blood again and actively try to set up such occasions for their thrill-seeking pleasure. It is certainly true that these elites kill thousands more citizens than citizens kill cops. Out of 18,000-plus American police departments aggressively chasing crime and revenue 24/7, only 48 cops got killed by gunfire in 2009. In fact, more cops kill themselves by suicide, or through car wrecks by fleet-chasing joyriders than by attacks by criminals. Most cops killed by gunfire are killed due to intruding into drunken, passionate domestic disputes. If we go by their own statistics, it becomes obvious that criminals with even slight reasoning powers are intelligent enough to keep far away from these already very dangerous elites.

Let us go one step further and try to recall any instance where a criminal went out of his way to try and kill one of these elites. I do remember an Okie captive bragging about how he knew a guy who had stabbed a prosecutor in a chance encounter in a crowd at six flags years ago. This might even be true. I recall that, many decades ago, Okie judge Fred Nelson had survived a bomb in his car. I also recall that another judge at that time had sent his wife out to start his car. She died of a bomb blast, but this bomb had a higher probability of having been set by her husband rather than your usual low-life criminal. Many elites get caught murdering their spouses in order to avoid sharing their riches in a divorce.

Other than the stabbing rumor and these two late 60's bombing incidents, I can recall no more cases where any elite courtcrats, much less any legislators, were attacked by criminals not intent on mere theft rather than some nebulous, unspecified, poorly defined concept of enmity. In all three instances, a concealed deadly weapon would have been of no use at all, as the stabber, if he existed, attacked from behind, was never recognized, and escaped into the crowd, never to be named except by hearsay from a braggart.

More evidence that there is no credible need for impoverished taxpayers to supply more free weapons and excess privileges to these highly paid elites is the fact that, if or when they are attacked, their media sycophants bleat this news far and wide, for days, as if it was equal to an Amber alert. A nationwide manhunt ensues until a convictable target is abducted into their justice lair, then every miniscule step in their arduous, endless legal process is reported in detail until the final, inevitable death or life-without-parole sentence is exacted. When was the last time you recall the media performing this ritual for a prosecutor, legislator, or any other politicianal elite? Obviously this is a very rare occurrence. Having established that the prosecutor's lobby bill and the legislator's amendment to it is more an exercise in greed than safety, let me make a few suggestions. It seems to me that persons who are afraid of their chickens coming home to roost should more properly benefit from lifestyle changes that make them less hated by victims of their excessively onerous justice system. Also, it would help to practice more fairness while unloading supersize portions of their legal justice, as even criminals have a sense of fairness. They realize when evidence has been manufactured, when witnesses are steered, when cops lie, when favorable evidence is destroyed, refused or twisted into unfavorable evidence. Criminals realize when the many tricks and traps that make up most of the law and its judicial system are used to over-punish them. Elite govcrats know this, and have previously fixed the "kill all the witnesses" problem that their excessively corrupt judicial practices had caused. (See: "Pretending") Also, persons who are so cowardly and terrified as to insist on having guns to make them brave enough to face their victims should be permitted to buy their own guns to carry. They should also be made to carry their guns in plain sight, in a prominent place, such as strapped to their foreheads. This way, honest citizens of integrity who do not need to hide behind deadly weapons can readily see what type of people these people are and avoid them. Or exclude them from our lives. Further, since most of these people are scared because they work for government at punishing people, these free guns and extra privilege should come with the requirement that they spend a few days in the jails and prisons that they so generously provide to their victims. This way, these elites can have a tiny little taste of the bitter pills that they pass out to others. This would replace some of their overbearing arrogance with the compassion that they so severely lack. And they should have to read aloud my essay, "Paranoid Delusion Syndrome" (/ParaDelSyn.htm) so that they may know their sickness.

Alert, thinking persons who are forever branded "criminal:" may eventually become tired of being the primary scapegoat used by unscrupulous elites to obtain fast political power. Citizens are often too intelligent to be confused into thinking that mere criminals are terrorists. As the population ages, many more citizens are less likely to be duped by slick-lipped govcrats and politicians

Criminals are not your enemy. Lawcrats only sell this nonsense in order to create more opportunities and privileges for themselves. Please, perform some critical analysis of their motivation and avoid being fooled.
