SELF HELP

This is a great topic, because it imp lies factual writing, rather than the usual "creative writing", which is most often a waste of time and effort. (Non-fiction is the actual best seller, despite the false impression the media gives that fiction makes authors rich. Self-help books by themselves out-sell all fiction books combined.)

Captives who choose to better themselves often begin with self-helping themselves to bigger muscles. They get terrorized in the county jails by their fellows with tall tales of sexual exploitation they should expect as soon as they arrive at prison. These rape-gang inspire an arms race. The more scared they are, the more desperately they seek weights to lift, protein to gobble and vitamins to gulp. Muscles swell as minds shrink.

When these new guys finally realize that the prisons are no more full of sex-maniacs than the jails, (meaning virtually none), many of them progress to the next level of enlightenment: mind. There begins, in the intelligent ones, at least, an effort at educating themselves. Too many dive straight into the deadend of religion, unaware that they are NOT shortcuts to paradise or excapes from Hell, but merely socialization codes and exploitation devices for use by the cunning against the gullible and ignorant. Only about 45% of inmates (15% more than non-captivecitizens), believe that all knowledge resides in one, or another, ancient religious text. The rest of us eventually pursue actual education in the real sciences and technology. Within a very short time of obtaining this knowledge-of-the -moderns and learning to integrate it, we reach the final enlightenment: the fact that ultimate power of self-help resides in POLITICAL power.

Ignorance of this fundamental fact is easily seen in persons whose world consists of nothing much more than their near surroundings. Ask them their opinion on current events, (politics), and they will often reply, "That shit doesn't affect me!"In actual fact, it directly affects their conviction, sentence length, parole date and virtually everything else in their captive lives. For example, persons who give up dope generally regain their freedom sooner than they who don't. Captives who communicate with the elite also tend to leave prison sooner. Alert, intelligent captives who can make connections between isolated events will have noticed recently that two border guards were caught and sentenced for shooting a drug smuggler in the back, lying up a gun in his hand and filing false reports about it to their superiors. These lying, corrupt, criminals-in-uniform then cried like babies in their appeals that they were victims of evidence chicanery, rather than perpetrators of it.

This would ordinarily merit little more than a chorus of "suck it up, crooks: You got what you gave and deserve ten times more!" but, remember, these are elite, coddled cops, hence a gaggle of cop-coddler politicians and TV news-whores swooped in to "help" by insisting that Sonny Bush give. them pardons. That is, legislators dodging their jobs of fixing laws and instead begging Bush for get-out-of-jail-free cards for their favorites. Now, if we compare notes, we find that the two primary ways that crooked cops and corrupt prosecutors lie us into prison and fraudulently enhance our sentences is through evidence chicanery; specifically, evidence-theft, evidence-manufacture and witness-steering. Watching politicians practice their own brand of corruption to save a couple of evidence-thieving cops from suffering their jury-given sentences due to judge/prosecutor evidence abuse give US a golden opportunity to reprimand them. Thus the ultimate in self-help would be for us to use this opportunity to shame these arrogant sons-of-riches-and-too-much-power into fixing the law for EVERYONE instead of simply pulling out more privileges for these violent, crooked cops.

Of course, they are not going to let us on TV to present an opposing view. We have to do this the hard, 19th century way; by hand-writing it several times to various politicians and media outlets, et al.

I pointed out these facts and suggested the cure could be to make the mostly worthless caselaw "protection" Brady v MD 373 US 83 (1963), into a federal statutes one that has "punishment" for cops, prosecutors and judges who conceal evidence. The punishment could be the same suffered by prisoners who file "frivolous" lawsuits. Such slight punishment for authorities who conceal evidence would tend to force them to act more honestly in their never-ending compulsion to fill the state's cages for profit and glory. And, when we sit passively, watching our sleazy politicians grab-up ever more perks and privileges for themselves and their cronies, we also watch THEM flush our own rights into the sewers. Thus, political awareness and power is the basis of all of our rights, freedoms and privileges. Persons who can not grasp this simple concept doom themselves to short lives of poverty, pain, maltreatment, misery and captivity.
